How You Can Win the HealthierUS School Challenge!

  1. Become a Team Nutrition School.
  2. Improve the nutrition quality of school lunches and other food sold/served .
  3. Maintain an Average Daily Participation in the School Lunch Program that exceeds the national average.
  4. Provide a systematic unit of nutrition education.
  5. Provide physical education and opportunities for daily, unstructured physical activity.
  6. Submit a copy of your wellness policy and demonstrate commitment to student health.

Move & Crunch Challenge for Principals
This statewide competition for elementary schools was implemented in March 2008. However, we encourage school to use the resources available to plan and implement a similar Challenge event locally. The event helps raise student, staff and community awareness and commitment to making healthy choices every day.
